I opened a Care Credit account for some dental work. I don't recall them stating there was a 24 month agreement????? At the end of the 24 months I have a balance of $191.00 and they charged me $200.00 interest. WTF......Have closed my account beward of any accounts you have with them. Was not aware of this penalty and was not informed prior to the 24 month expiration date. Please do not do business with this company I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and would advise you to do the same.......bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad

Watch out for this company

This company is a rip off! They offer you a promotional benefit, and within a few months there is a large interest added to your account. Thinking you have paid your card down, and here is this crazy interest charge, which has your balance at a high amount, almost over the credit limit. I am going to report this company to the BBB and FDIC for consumer fraud. No where in there disclosure does it say if the balance is not paid in full they will add the full interest amount to the balance of your account. Whomever has had this problem, report this company, this is ridiculous to have $153.00 added to a balance of $430.20. This company must be affiliated with some type of payday loan

It states that the interest accrues during the promotional time frame and if not paid in full with in the promotional time frame the accrued interest will be charged to you. That is common practice amongst all no interest deals.

read the fine print it does say that exactly.

More than I hoped for

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
An escalation specialist (customer service manager) named Jesse finally answered my call. (My ONLY complaint - too many calls, not enough people to handle them.) I had been hospitalized for a while, so I missed bills and payments. The interest was 4 TIMES the original amount. Scared? Yes. (I'm on SS - I wouldn't live long enough to pay the bill.) Furious? Not really - that's how banks and computers work, but there should be some sort of human intervention saying "wait a minute - this guy may be dead". Along comes Jesse. No interest, no late fees, nothing. All taken off. It would have been even better if they had paid my balance, but this is reality, not fantasyland. What more than rolling the account back to before I was hospitalized could I have hoped for? Thank you Jesse, and if anyone tells me that Synchrony Bank is a fraud I may need oxygen until I can breathe again. Jesse is a female knight in brightly polished shining armor, and doesn't get paid enough.

This company has told me so many lies. First I was told I had one year free interest, after 6 months they added $900 to my acct for interest and $120 every month after. My min payment is 119.00/month and I always pay $400-$500 monthly and my payment seems to never decrease.i have called several times and all I get is a bunch of rude, lying representatives.

Ticked

Won't take calls unless you pay 10 dollars to speak to someone aabout your bill. Have written and no answer. They want to charge me $79.67 interest on top of $150.00 last payment. We went with the 6 months to pay with no interest. This going to the Better Business Bureau. Have been longtime customers. I feel as if they are preying on people who cannot afford dental work. Why won't you take customer calls. I have two accounts, one with myself and one for my husband. Previously had used them for husband's dental work. I would be anxious to hear from you on this matter as soon as you can, or I will write to BBB. Ann Searles

Carecredit Credit Card Review from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I got my care credit card about my cat needed emergency surgery. My credit limit was $3,500 which I hit pretty quickly. I paid $1,050 online with my own bank account. The money came out of my account and went towards my "available balance" 2 days later. However, it did not go towards my available credit even though the payment has been "posted" online. Not to mention I now have a negative credit limit because my payment came before my first bill was due so it technically does not count. Not to mention I paid $941 more than what my first payment is supposed to be. And I paid it early! I've talked to 3 agents and they told me it was a bank regulation that they had to hold my money because it's over a certain amount. Even though it came out of my account already. They are only holding it so I incur more charges. I asked if there was a disclaimer stating a payment over a certain amount had to be held for at least 7 days by synchrony bank and I was told no there was not. I paid my money. They took my money. But they have yet to return that back in the form of available credit. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL.

Why not just use a regular bank credit card like Visa, etc? Or, better yet, save your money for eventualities like this.

My bill arrives after my bill is due! They do this on purpose to get you & charge late fees on you.

Forget about any bonus reward points from this company. I just spent 2 hours to track why they did not credit them to my account.

The last guy finally did nothing and hung up.

Oh well, I will continue to use the card, but with the idea of making sure I get more benefit from them than the company really wants to give customers.

In the end such lousy service will cost the company more than the providing of good customer service. Such companies do no survive in a competitive market.

Carecredit Account Review from Uniontown, Pennsylvania

I'm glad I came here and realized it wasn't just me. I have a Care Credit card I use for my pets to take them to the vet. I use it occasionally as my dogs only go to the vet once or twice a year. I like to have it though in case of an emergency with one of my pets so I would never have to worry about where the money from the vet bill was coming from. Received a letter today that they are closing my account. When I called they said I would have to reapply and start back over with a $500 credit limit. I've had this card for years. Never been late on a payment and in most cases paid the total balance immediately. How can they do this??

Cards with open lines of credit (especially large lines, which these often are) and very little usage are very open to fraud. It is a common practice for companies to close accounts, especially those for store cards (which this effectively is), in these instances.

At least you were informed of it. Typically, they just close them.

And if you rarely use it and pay all balances within the promo periods, they are not making any money off of you, at all, so they are carrying risk for zero profit. Why WOULDN'T they close it?

Horrible customer service. They are definitely looking for your money. I called and was told immediately to pay. There was no "how can I help you"? I wanted to refer folks to them but I have been paying almost two years. Yuck. I try to get out of dental work, just clean please.

$5000 CareCredit Account With $0 Balance Closed WIth Zero Notification

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had a CareCredit account that I had last used in summer of 2014 which I'd had over $4000 worth of activity in over the previous 20 months and had completely paid off in December of 2014 get closed down with absolutely no notification in December of 2014 or January of 2015. I found this out in approximately February of 2016 when I went to a dentist to have a removable denture fixed for a cost of $89. In that time I had as I mentioned had over $4000 worth of dental work done on an 18 month zero interest basis that I was not able to pay off in 18 months. Because of this, I ended up having about $1800 in interest charges added back into the loan at the point where I had paid off about $2500-$3000 of the original balance. I got a 401K loan in December of 2013 which I had planned to use to pay off my entire credit portfolio including this loan, so I did. I paid the entire balance including the tacked on interest, all at once. This increased my limit to approximately $5000. In July or August of 2014 I had this same dental appliance fixed at the same dentist for the same amount of money, but forgot I had used the card and was 30 days late making the payment. I did make it however and my limit had not been reduced as a result of the late pay - in fact, I don't even think it was reported to the credit bureaus. My debt to income ratio went way up in the latter half of 2014 due to a layoff, and the subsequent need for more credit use, but at the time my score was 760+ and it had only gone down to the 740's by the end of the year. There is no reason for my account to have been closed in the first place. But to have had that done without any notification whatsoever being provided to me - EVER, is the most unprofessional and unethical thing I can imagine them doing. And still to this day, if I call the number on the back of my card and give them the number, it still has record of my account and says closed. How do they do business like this?

Carecredit Account Review from Saint Charles, Missouri

I need to make a formal complaint about my experience with CareCredit. I'm deeply frustrated with how they have been able to provide answers or assistance that has resulted in total lack of trust and confidence I. Their ability to safeguard and handle accounts. I'm a customer of CareCredit to pay for my Remaining balance on my LASIK procedure. My remaining balance to pay over a two year period without interest is $1450. Not once, but now TWICE care credit has taken the full amount I owe out of my account. Thought they fixed it the first time and I even set up online for a monthly auto payment at the minimum twice. When I've called to speak to a customer representative, they've been pleasant. Have been able to provide me a refund check but when I've asked why it keeps happening they can't give me an answer. Told me that for the first round I had it set up as a one time payment, but then on June 6th,2016 I had signed up for monthly minimum payment. I then proceeded to ask then why was the full amount taken from my account on June 14th. All she could tell me is that I would get a refund. So now I don't know why it happened and anticipate it will probably happen again because she bypassed directly answering my question

Stay away from Care Credit!!!

I was given a care credit account with a high limit, which is weird, considering that I had filed for bankruptcy less than 5 years ago. I have a Toys r Us account with Synchrony bank, which for me, has been nothing less than a nightmare and when I found at they are financing Care Credit, I immediately closed the account. I charged $25.00 dollars on the Toys R Us credit card in December of 2015. Now, my balance is up to $158.00 all because of their "late fees" This company needs to be prosecuted. Their customer service is, I feel, TERRIBLE. I have tried to reason with these people. I have tried to have my account balance frozen, so that I can pay it off. I have told them that I will have to declare bankruptcy if they won't work with me. I can't get on a payment plan because my account hasn't been opened long enough. So then what, is the balance on a $25.00 purchase going to go up to $500.00 bucks before they will work with me? There have GOT to be laws about this, because this is wrong.

I have had care credit for a little over a year. I originally got it to have for Vet emergencies. Bonus factor was i could use it as well for certain things. Thought it was a great thing to have. Yesterday 4/23/16 i receive a letter from them that they cancelled my card because i have NOT used it in a year.. Excuse me? WTF? the inquiry for applying for it hasn't even dropped off my credit report yet,AND now i have the credit damage of a closed account too. If i had known this detail of being cancelled for NOT using it, i would have NEVER gotten it.
