Really sorry this happened to you. I had to learn the hard way that it's important to start building your credit early for this precise reason.

Otherwise when you really need it, it won't be available to you. Try looking into obtaining a secured credit card that reports to the credit bureaus monthly to begin building your credit. From there you can graduate to better unsecured cards with perks and higher credit limits. I'm just now rebuilding my credit after some trouble when I was much younger and am having to start my dog on cancer treatments.

I wish I had a card with a much higher credit limit to help me. I would have if I kept responsibly building credit with my first card.

Anyway. Good luck to you and I hope you won't run into an emergency like that again.

CareCredit review: Cant pay my bill on line as I have for years

When I enter my information as I always have, the screen goes blank. When I call GE Credit the rep. said there is no problem with the system. They won't take my payment without a charge. They play like this is all news to them that there is a problem. It is Very frustrating as I am not a late payer. I have been paying for years on line and don't like spending so much time trying to pay my bill as I agreed to do. I also don't understand why it takes 100 words to register my complaint. Thanks.

CareCredit review in West Springfield, Massachusetts: This "caring" company says they are here to help...

my doctor advised me to use "care" credit for lasik eye surgery a couple years ago. this credit card compay WILL NOT hesitate to charge you interest after the "promotion" is up. they charged me $700 in one month from the previous "free" months. i do not understand how 26.99% is considered caring! the minimum payment is for $70 but they are charging me $50-60 in interest a month! who in thier right mind would use a card like this unless they got tricked into it. i recieven no notice or anything in the mail, it took me way too long to realize they were riping me off. i was under the assumption they cared about me and my doctor knew what was going on. not the case. i have two other credit cards with less than half the interest of this one. do not use this credit card. not to mention their calling hours are a tiny window w-f, with NO OPTION to email them. they are very hard to get a hold of. SO FAR they have charged me 1.2k on a 3k surgery, and my balance is at 2.3k...how is this okay?

It's ok, because it's what you signed up for. How do you think a company can be in business by giving away free financing?

It's very clear on your monthly statement.

About two months before your promotional balance ends, it's (in red lettering) spelled out.

Didn't you read ANY of the fine print? This one is on you.

CareCredit review: Dental; DO NOT sign UP!!

I was under the impression I could pay for a temp tooth bridge by signing up for this hoax...reality was, I had a time frame to pay, otherwise, I had a HUGE penalty!!! I changed dentists after this and found out the cost of my temp was HALF the cost other dentist charged me!!! It's a rip off and no one discusses the payments once you reach your FREE period. JUST DONT DO IT!!! Change offices as soon as they offer this service..Good luck and tell me your story!! If I wasnt fortunate enough to receive a bonus through my job, I would be paying an additional $500 on top of what I already owed since it was past the due date!!!!

A lot of dentists accept care credit as well as medical doctors and vets. You can't get mad if you don't read the paper work or the website because it clearly states that if you don't pay the entire balance by the time your promotional period is over that you are charged from the date of purchase.

It doesn't mean your going to a bad dentist if they accept Care Credit, it's actually very helpful. ALWAYS READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR ANYTHING!!!

It used to be that if your pet needed expensive emergency care or any kind of expensive care but you didn't have all the money you needed to pay for it, a veterinarian would either treat the animal first and bill you later, or accept what you had at the time and take...

I'm sorry about your poor cat. I was just looking into CareCredit to help pay for my dog's cancer treatments, but now I'm worried after reading all of these horrible reviews.

May your poor baby rest in peace. :(

CareCredit review: Dental Expenses Collections

My husband was in dire need of some teeth extractions due to cancer damage from multiple myeloma. He had his work done last winter. Couldn't afford it so I resorted to GE Care Credit. I had the assumation that we could pay if off in a lump some by the end of 18 months. We made a few payments, however, when my husband was to get some medications for his other health issues were totalling up to $750 a month. We could not pay. Care Credit collectors started calling about six or eight times a day to make me pay when I had no money. I had to treaten them that I would turn them into our state's attorney's office to get them off my back. The absolute worse company I ever had to deal with. I guess if we need them for our pets or ourselves we will go without service and take the consequences for not having the money.

Is a great card--no finance charge at all but you have to make payments on time and more each month to pay total on time---the complaints are from people that don't pay on time and think there should be no penalty don't get it

I have Care Credit. If you can`t pay what do you expect the company to do just ignore the debt? Seriously?

CareCredit review in Levittown, New York: Horrible policy

Have been paying ahead for months on GE Capital CreditCare. If you pay ahead and not within "billing cycle" They don't count it as your monthly payment. Then to make matters worse, if your next payment was "supposedly" 2 days late, because you paid on the 1st not the 5th. They charge you a late fee. scenario: Payment due 28th of month. You pay on 1st of month with all other bills. your payment doesn't count for the 30th payment. I goes to principle as extra payment. So, you think you paid until you receive a late fee. Why?? because your billing cycle starts on the 5th I would rather put a charge on my AMEX then use them again. FYI GE Capital is horrible, had same experience with them holding an Amazon CC Stay away fro anything GE Capital. Just my experience and option
