Nightmare from ***!

I submitted a formal complaint to the Kentucky General's Office and suggest others do that in his/her home state. Threats, over 5 calls on my birthday while Mom was gravely sick. It's amazing they did not ask for my first born! Dental Works is just as bad--knowing the difficulties with the company. Which one is worse? The office that sent me the slaughter house or the company recommended. They took three separate payments from my checking account. There were 2 ($5.00) payments and then they removed $122.00 from my Disability check. Saving my teeth will not be my priority again! In fact, Dental Works in Fern Creek, Kentucky did substandard dental care.

Care Credit

I had an awful experience with GE Capital's Care Credit card. When you agree to the card terms and conditions, you also agree to "insurance" that goes with the card. I had a 12-month no interest benefit however I discovered at the end of my 12-month period I had been charged monthly fees for the insurance. And to make matters worse I was being charged INTEREST on the Insurance!!! So while I thought I wouldn't be penalized if I paid my balance in 12 months, I ended up having an additional $600 in charges on my card that were insurance and interest charges. I wouldn't recommend without copious amounts of research and questions.

Companies cannot arbitrarily add insurance to the account, you have to agree. In fact, if you signed actual paperwork, you have to initial stating that they offered and you accepted or declined.

If you feel that there was an error, you should first contact the company. If you do not get any results you can contact someone from the insurance commission or the attorney general's office in your state.

I am sorry this happened to you and I hope you will be able to find a resolution.

Nightmare

I get 5-6 calls a day from these idiots. When I signed up at the dental office I told them I could only afford a $25 a month payment. And I was told there would be no interest. They have added on late fees and interest and the balance is wrong. I have spoken with them 5 times and they still don't have my bill correct. Very stressful. I just sent them a letter explaining the errors stating when the bill comes with the correct balance and monthly payment I will then make my payments and also requested they do not call me again. I sure hope this nightmare gets fixed. They have called on Sundays and all hours of the night. I now just answer the phone and hang up on them. There is no reasoning with these people. Do yourself a favor and do not get a care credit card!

Care Credit

I was given a pamphlet from my dentists office and told that Care Credit is a government sponsored program that was put in place to help people with Medical, Dental and Vision needs. Supposedly you can borrow money interest free, and as long as you pay on time your account remains interest free until the balance is paid off. Care Credit is a bank with a credit card. They find a way to skip a payment and then charge a late fee and 26.7% interest. Well if you are poor and can't pay off the balance. then you are stuck with the high interest. I called and has the fee and interest removed and paid off the balance. Others may not have that ability. If this has happened to you, please call the Better Business Bureau, your Congressman and Senator. This company is committing fraud and passing out pamphlets that look like legitimate government programs. Lets collectively stop this!

Care Credit preys on the public..hopefully the govt can close them down. Write your atty Generals consumer affairs dept. I'm surprised this still goes on today.

#672987

Sounds like your issue is with the Dental office. In the brochure handed to you by the dental office did it say it was a Government Program??

Care CREDIT the name should say it all...but of course you read the paperwork you were signing? Correct?

Extremely, Extremely Rude and Deceptive!

Every time I have ever dealt with this company they have been shockingly rude (and I am personally always pleasant and professional on the phone so I know their attitude is not in self-defense). My first bill, I mistakenly thought the due date was the 22nd instead of the 20th, so I got hit with a $35 late fee. I requested a change to my due date one time to make it two days later, they didn't tell me it wouldn't be effective until two billing cycles from then, so I got hit with ANOTHER $35 late fee the next month. When I called asking why the date wasn't changed, the lady was a total you-know-what and said "I don't know what to tell you" and said she couldn't submit a request for a refund of the late fee because the first one from OVER A MONTH AGO was still "in review." Likely story. Point is - I have excellent credit and never pay anything late, they know my credit is good, this was an honest mistake from a new customer and they did ZERO to work with me. She hung up the phone mid-sentence and then KEPT ME ON HOLD so that I could not answer the customer service survey at the end of the call. Unbelievable! I have never been jerked around so much as by these people. I wish I would have known this prior to my procedure, I would have paid in cash. Not worth the hassle.

CareCredit is trying to rip me off for thousands of dollars.

Loan Shark Practices- Like most of the others on here I was approved for a $5,500 loan interest free for 12 months. I paid $5,100 off and had $400 left my next bill showed a $2,400 so I went from owing $400 to $2,800 just like that. They told me I did not live up to the terms of the contract and even if I had paid $5,499 at the end of 12 months I owe interest on all that entire balance if the account is not paid in full. CareCredit if you can, they are only interest in taking advantage of you. I am amazed that they are allowed to operate as they do in this country without any consequence. I received a ton of calls from a collection agency who demanded I pay the entire sum which is now about $4,000. The amount keeps increasing. I told them I will only pay what I truly owe and not a penny more. They continued to call so I evoked the Fair Dept Collection Act on them which stopped the calls. I received a letter from an attorney's office yesterday threatening to sue me. Talk about a nightmare.

Misleading

This company just takes advantage of consumers. Seems to offer good deal when you need dental or medical saying you don't have to pay interest if paid off in 6 months, and tries to come across so friendly, but it is ready to stick you with high interest and high fees if you are late for any reason. Better off to use your regular charge card and stay away from this one! We paid a large first payment, received NO reminders via email (went paperless) and then were charged a high late fee since the second payment wasn't made on time.

Lay off

So I called Care Credit today to see if there is anything they could do to help me out with my credit card balance, since I am being layed off from my job and today is my last day. I told them with all my bills it will be impossible to keep up the monthly pymt, and that I would like to pay off my balance (with outside family help) and if they could give me some kind of break or discount? NOPE. They don't do anything like that....I then called my Discover Card, No Problem they said. They took off 4 months of interest. Not a lot, but it defeinately helped. Thank you Discover Card and No thanks Care Credit!!

They took my dog,and now cc wants me to pay

I brought my pure bred Border Collie to SAVES emergency hospital they told me it would be impossible to give us an exact amount of the total cost, but we needed to give them a deposit of $500.00. We did this with our Care Credit card, which we had opened through our regular Vet for just this reason...emergencies. After many different reports of our dogs recovery, we asked if could move her from the emergency hospital to our local Vets office. Again we were given different stories depending on whom we were speaking with, also the cost kept going up, and from the information we were given the dog would be better off being,as the person speaking said "put down". When we inquired about picking up her remains to be brought home for burial, all of a sudden one of the nurses piped up saying she would take the dog and cover all expenses, which included Care Credit. SAVES has been paid by care credit, they had care credit send me a bill for $500.00. I immediately called care credit to dispute the charge ,they told me they would stop all action and send me a dispute letter. I got a second bill for $599.00 I again called to dispute the bill and again they said they would stop all action and send me a letter to dispute the charge.I'm still waiting. In the meanwhile GE Bank care credit parent company has canceled and closed my other GE accounts, that has always been paid.Citing my bad credit caused by care credit. MY credit score has gone from mid 600's to 400. BEWARE or GE Bank and Care Credit

GE Capital/CARE CREDIT FRAUD

I agreed to a 6 month no interest promotion for dental implant work in June 2012. 9 months later (March 2013) the work has not been completed, as the implant/bone graft failed in October 2012, and had to be removed and the bone graft reattempted at that same time. Once again, 9 months later, and a procedure that should've been resolved within 4 months (by October 2012) has now exceeded that time frame twice over. I contacted Care Credit twice about this issue, and in both instances the response was basically "we'll see what we can do, we'll stop the billing while investigating...", only to respond later with a "sorry, we can't help you" letter with back dated interest tacked on, with no acknowledgement as to the reason why the entire balance has not been paid in full during the 6 month promotion, nor any acknowledgement of the monthly payments that have been made. I guarantee an individual or class action lawsuit will be filed against this company. They offer credit accounts/promotions, yet penalize and steal from their customers (interest fees) by offering no recompense, regardless of the facts, in the event treatment plans are not completed correctly, or completed within the time frame outlined prior to agreeing to treatment.

I've had my card for several years and I know that the interest rates are very high. You have to pay more than the minimum payment to get ahead.

By law, this should be posted on your statement.

Look at last months statement, see how much the interest and pay that plus extra $$ or get a lower interest loan to pay this off. :sigh

I filed a chargeback against an optical business and my money was refunded by CC.

No interest? Yeah, right.

I am VERY unhappy with this company. In my time of need a needed about $100 to get my pet to an emergency vet because he was have bloody diarrhea. I am told about this great opportunity to use CareCredit to loan me the hundred I needed to pay this bill. I was also informed that I would pay NO interest for the first 6 months. I thought it was be a great option for me so I turned on my smartphone and applied right then and there. My vet bill was around $205, I paid a $100 of my own and then used CareCredit for the rest. I didn't worry about the payment for a couple of months because I knew that getting the rest wouldn't be a problem at that point. Before my 6 months is up, after 4 months before it was up, I go to pay off the bill to find...I owe $205?!?!?!?! Are you kidding me? I notice that I am being charged with a $91 bill of being late...but I was told NO INTEREST! So I call up the company and the lady who answers doesn't even care to ask what I need and starts to ramble on about how I need to pay in a monotone voice. I interrupt asking why my bill was the number that it was. She replies that it's because the "plan" I signed up for requires me to pay each month. Uhm, no, that was not stated to me when I did my application. I tell the lady that and she pauses and just repeats that it is charged with each month. I tell her that I should have been told that in the beginning and hang up. I cannot believe the terrible service that I have had with this company! First, I'm lied to and my bill is jacked the the ORIGINAL cost of the vet bill, and then I have a lady with a bad attitude who didn't care to help me at all! I would NEVER recommend this to ANYBODY!! And I suggest that this company needs to fix it's *** before lying to anymore customers. Also, my bill was suppose to be $106.42, I was charged with $91 of being late, and my final bill was $205?! Yeah, those numbers don't add up.

With ANY credit card that you have, you must pay a minimum balance each month. Even if it is no interest.

The no interest part does not mean you can just skip payments! I have a Best Buy credit card with no interest for 18 months. I still pay each month.

I'm sorry, but this was your fault. Not CareCredit.

Credit request

My Ear Nose and Throat Dr recommended, medically, that I needed hearing aids. I applied to carecredit and was denied. I find this absolutely unreal. I just purchased a new car and had no problem. I have been on a cash basis since 2008 but have one credit card. I make more than enough and had planned to pay off the card within 6 mo for a hearing aid costing 1600.00. I know I have the option to contact Experian who they said was where they obtain my cr score. This is just ridiculous...I work two jobs and have paid all my bills on time. credit karma had my cr score at 679 and they had it lower. I think they need to review their approval system and believe they could call me and ask more questions than to just deny me.

COMPANIES *WILL* DENY CREDIT IF THEY REVIEW YOUR REPORT AND SEE THAT YOU HAVE EXCESS CREDIT. IF YOU HAVE ACCOUNTS THAT YOU HAVEN'T USED BUT ARE STILL OPEN THEN THAT MEANS YOU CAN PAY.
