I had same problem. this company is a scam.

I made all my payments on time also and then suddenly they demanded the full amount or I would owe an exorbitant amount of interest. I did not have the full amount so now they just get the 25 dollars a month till it is paid off.

Sae thing happened to someone else I know who went and got a personal loan from a bank to pay them off because the bank's interst rate was much lower. :(

Adults do not get this coverage. Nothing is really "Free" not all medical services are covered. Not all or even half of those receiving benefits want to be in their position. Your statement is offensive.

ATTN: CLASS ACTION JOIN ME! REPLY

Care-Credit has destroyed my credit score. Long story short, a day after I agreed to care credit and my sons braces, I realized that the dentist used fraudulent advertising and so I called the dentist and told him to cancel my service. He said it was too late to cancel. I said, I ordered yesterday, call the braces place and cancel them making or sending the braces. He said too late they were already shipped. I told him that it's BS and that in CA I have 3 days to change my mind. He stated I should be getting a call about when to come in to have the braces put on. I called back over 10 times in the next two months and never got called back. Then I get the Care Credit bill for $5,000. I called them and told them I never got any service and that I had canceled. They said that it was my responsibility to get the dntist to refund the money to them. I told them I have called him repeatedly and he won't call me back or act. So, I said, simply call him and tell him to refund the money because I never got braces for my son. They said no. They are now on my credit report as a $7,000 sign off which caused my credit cards to all drop my balances to to my current balance which then caused me to start missing payments due to late fees and then lost my promotional rate on cards because of it and it has all snowballed.

Care Credit/GE credit are CRIMINALS!!

I have had to get on the phone with customer service just about EVERY MONTH to fix some sort of *** issue with them!!! Honestly, if I didn't need to have a credit card for medical/veterinary reasons, I would just cancel this. I guess I am just hopeful this company will own up to their screw-ups and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!! for example: the most recent issue I have with them, I made a payment on 8/12/13, on both of our accounts, they have no record of the payment, even though I make my payments through my bank's "bill pay", so the payments come the same way ALL THE TIME, no changes. The money was cashed from my account though. So now I have to make copies of all of my payments to this Jack *** company so they can see where the money is, prove that I did in fact make this payment. In the first several months we opened the accounts, the issue was always being charged late payment fees, when we woundnt receive the notices until 2 weeks after the due dates. I am sure all on purpose. Just a crooked *** company if you ask me.

DO NOT USE RIP OFF

I had to get this card when my Dog was in the ER and I didn't have enough cash on hand. So you are trying to fill out paper with a dying pet and you don't notice certain things. First off the APR is 27%. That is absurd. It makes it impossible to pay off the balance. They pretty much are taking advantage of people in tough situations. Next I missed my first payment but have sent all the others with in 30 days of each other yet they charge me a late fee every month. I called in they said don't mail them. I like to use my bank pay system and don't want to have to go everyone I have to pay and use their individual site. That takes to much time. They were going to keep charging me late charges until I called them and pointed out with my bank statement that I have sent payments to them every 30 days. Had I not had that on my bank I would not have been able to show them. Again they are here to take advantage.

Care Credit Website and Service Sucks

Since we signed up with Carecredit, their website and online login does not work right. I have wasted countless hours calling and resetting it. I switched browsers as they suggested and still nothing. This has been going on for two years. I had it set on auto pay and just left it alone until I changed banks a couple months ago and needed to change the autopay information. It has been 3 months now and every time I call, I think it is resolved until the next month it doesn't come out of my bank account automatically. So I try to sign in online again, it never works. So I call and have to waste 30 minutes on the phone. It is under my husband's account but I am an authorized signer on the account and he has authorized me to speak to them, yet each time I call, they ask to speak to him, so if he is not available, I have to call back, go through 30 minutes of automation again for him to tell them once again that they can speak to me. It is beyond card holder security, they just make things difficult. If their technology worked right, this wouldn't happen. They didn't even have a reset password available on their website for me to try to set up new access on my own.

Rip Off Artists who Sneakily Steal Your Money

My husband and I are both disabled veterans, unfortunately we don't have continuing dental coverage without a major dental plan and the plans we could afford usually only cover cleanings and give a small discount on services (maybe). So we were told by the dentist office my husband had to see when he accidently hit himself in the mouth with a wrench (he is oh so graceful) that we could get this dental card called Care Credit to pay to have his teeth fixed. Then we found out that my daughter who is 6 yrs old had to have some teeth pulled so we put that on the card to. We had to use two different dental offices as the first place only did cleanings for children, nothing else. So we paid at two different places with the care credit, the dental offices don't completely fill you in on the snafus of this card. With my husbands teeth repair it cost us $3500.00 so they told us we would get a lower interest rate plan and no time limit to pay it off due to the larger amount. My daughters procedure, she had to have 5 teeth removed to make room for the new adult teeth coming in as her mouth is too small for all the teeth she was trying to grow in. Her procedure cost us $1270.00 and the xrays she had at the first office they charged us $219.00. So for a total of what we have left to pay now is $2800.00 as we have been paying on the first one for about a year now. Here's what they don't tell you, with that lower fixed interest rate which is not that low at 14.90% they also charge you a fixed payment amount which is $350 a month! We have a $15,000.00 credit card that while it is not maxed now has been in the past and even at max the payment was $250.00 a month! This is outrageous and higher than a car payment for most of us. They also don't tell you that if you have any additional charges that are billed at a 6 month or 1 year no interest rate that if you already have the first type and are paying the $350.00 a month, they don't put anything you pay even if you pay extra toward the other two balances that are interest free for a small limited time! So those expiration dates approach and pass and they charge you 26.99% interest if those expire before you get the large major amount paid off! This makes your payments go into the $500.00 dollar range!! When you try to call customer service and complain that you never signed a contract or never agreed to a set payment amount or could you split up the payment to at least send part of it to the other balances, or pay extra strictly to the balances that are approaching expiration, they tell you that they are sorry and wish they could help you but they can't do anything for you. They just keep saying I'm very sorry and I can't do anything to help you and when asked if there is anyone who can they say no sorry and that they understand how you feel but they are very sorry over and over and do nothing! Horrid customer service and that is if you can understand what the person on the other end of the line is even saying, the person I spoke with had such a strong foreign accent that I could hardly understand a word! Avoid this card if there is ever the possibility of having to use the card for more than one thing at a time or more than one family member where you will be billed separate times DON'T USE THIS CARD as they do their best to rip you off of as much money as possible!!!!!

I totally agree.... Aspen Dental didnt credit care credit for 2500.00 when we found out that my teeth didnt not have to be surgically removed something they said could happen and that they would credit our account if they were not surgically removed..

Turned out after 4 months of not thinking to ask.. just assuming they would let us know if there was a credit..( NOT) we had paid off the credit card 8500.00 before we found out that my teeth didnt have to be surgically removed..where was that money? we never knew about it and i bet if I hadnt asked we would of never heard we had a 2500 credit. I am furious about this..

interest could of been building on this money in an savings account.. we could of used it to buy a new furnace that we didnt get because we paid so much for my teeth..Corrupt company..

both Aspen Dental and Care credit.. and I am not 100% sure that All About Eyes isnt in this fraudulent business too

#690818

Sounds like your dentist is ripping you off too. 5 teeth?

From a 6 year old?

And you bought into that? Gullible on all counts.

I had a balance of 1900.00 they make your monthly payment so low, that the balance is not paid by the promotional deadline.they were charging me a monthly interest then a 500.00 interest fee was added to payoff amt.so i just paid them 2422.32.i cut my card up.they are ripoff scammers. that was done to me twice.when i called them for the payoff, they said because promotion expired, thats the fee.i told them they cannot double charge on the interest.they said they can do what they want.told me oh well.thats their policies.

It is not a scam. What part of 6, 12 or 18 month intrest free dont you understand? Very simple pay it off before the time is up and its intrest free, dont pay and its not.

#736032
@PissedConsumer702271

Babs stick it. you probably work for them, they never told me that and neither did the dentist!!!

#737227
@PissedConsumer702271

Babs they do try to take advantage of consumers.. Once I received my first statement and called them about the payment amount, they said that payment was just a minimum payment but I can pay whatever I want..

This is confusing for an older person that looks at their bill and try to do the right thing.. Had I not called I would be complaining like all the others.

#775410
@PissedConsumer702271

Babs, to me that says 6,12,18 months no interest. Not that if it wasn't paid in those months then the interest would still be charged.

This needs to be explained to the younger clientele in more detail.

I think that if they had some English speaking customer service agents then it wouldn't be lost in translation also. The vet office that I used this card at did not explain this to me either.

Medical use surgery

I applied for Care Credit to help pay some of the doctor and hospital fees for a surgery that my insurance would not cover December of 2012. I have not so good credit but was able to be approved by GE for this card. I understood going in that my interest rate was going to be higher as I have not so good credit but I needed this surgery. My experience has been good. I pay my bills through auto draft and get a lower interest rate for doing so and it is helping raise my credit score. I have no complaints with this company. I get no calls because I pay my bill on time all of the time and I pay less interest not only because I auto pay but I pay 10 dollars more every month. Most of the problems I see on this site are with the customer not with the company. Learning how to handle your money and credit is what most of these folks need to do. Taking control over their accounts and not just going along with what the person on the other end of the line says is important; follow up and not months later. It's your credit score not the companies; they don't care about you and never will. Take some personal responsibility.

really well if the full amt is not paid in 18 mo they really let you have it

#725670

Thank you so much for being the voice of sanity. I have a hard time taking most of the complaints seriously because of the bad language and atrocious grammar of the person posting the complaint.

My mother-in-law has a Care Credit account. She, like you, had a lower credit score, but was still able to qualify. She is not computer literate, so she comes to my house once a month, BEFORE her due date and asks me to help her make her payment online. The only problem we ever had was when I failed to enter the log-in information correctly and the account was locked out for two hours.

That was my fault, not Care Credit's.

I noticed that the one time someone articulated what appeared to be a legitimate complaint, a representative of Care Credit responded by stating the company would be willing to review the case. I have to agree with you about taking action regarding their own credit scores.

I personally don't like the system we have, but unfortunately it is the one we are stuck with so we either learn to work within the system, or we don't use credit and pay cash. I think paying cash is better, but sometimes that is not an option.

CareCredit RIPOFF

Hello,  I would like to inform you that your credit card sucks.  I have paid you all off and I am done with your company.  I will not pay a *** service charge.  I paid the remaining balance and that is ALL I am giving you.  Your company is nothing but a headache and you can not even pay your bill by talking to a customer service representative without them charging you anywhere from 10-15 dollars just to talk to a representative.  When I got approved for the card, I had no idea that they were going to charge me to talk to someone.  When it clearly states that you can pay your bill online for free.  If that is the case then why do you charge me a fee for a transaction fee to pay the bill.  I have paid all of my bills on time and do not need to pay service fees for being late when I wasn't.  The last payment I paid on the 10th of june on my phone and apparently you didn't get that and had the NERVE to call the house on Saturday morning early when you were NEVER supposed to call the house.  I don't know how you even got the number.  I would like to cancel this card, and not have anything to do with you ever again.  You all are nothing but a headache and I WILL call the better business bureau on the way i was treated and the way that you all do business.  REALLY you say one thing and do something else.  I have never had a credit card charge me just to talk to someone to pay my bill.  You have false advertising and I will tell all my friends to not get a credit card from you. Also I DO NOT think it is right to keep adding a bunch of charges just to pay bill on time.

No Help - Deaf

Hello, My bad experience started when I visited a dental office in December 2012. I was told by an associate from the dental office my payment will become active once my root canal work procedure is started. The only work was done was fill in. I was schedule to come in in a month's time for my root canal. I started getting calls for payment even before any work of root canal had started. I have been calling customer service at care credit since early this year few times already. Last call done few weeks ago and was told my dispute claim has been put through which will take about couple of months to be resolve not the first time. I received a letter last week advising me to make payment including INTEREST until this matter of dispute is resolved an adjustment will be made to my account. I do not have account and I will not accept this letter of their "investigating this dispute and to make payment with interest". Can you imagine I use to get calls from different area codes morning, day and night as late as 10 pm. I call customer service to stop the harassment which they did. I am starting to get this calls again. So somebody please will look into this and resolve the situation. Thank you Veena Bhagwandas

They just got sued and now you can dispute claims. The dental practice can not charge out services before work is done.

I run a dental practice and we have to sign new forms about not charging before work starts and how customer has first right or refusal. If they charge you you can still reverse charges :x

Totally Happy Cardholder

We've had Care Credit for about four years and we are totally satisfied. I would say we've probably charged a total of $16,000 in dental work during that time. My wife had some implants done by a first-rate dentist and I had about $7000 in a permanent from the same fellow. In addition she had several crowns. We paid them all off on time and were never charged a nickel of interest. If anyone is pissed off at this organization, I suspect that person is not a terribly savvy consumer. Your instructions say I must enter at least 100 words, which is why I wrote this last sentence.

I agree. This card is amazing!

I've never had any problems and I read all the fine print, pay by due date, and watch when my promotional pay periods end. I've had this card for several years.

Have charged thousands of dollars and have NEVER paid any interest. People just need to be active, responsible card holders!

#685438

I have never had any trouble with my care credit. I watch my statement like a hawk, never pay late and keep an eye on all promotional purchases.

If you want a good experience with carecredit, you have to actively participate in your account. Nobody will do it for you

I charged 300$ started charge interest right from first bill even though was told 90 same as cash no interest. 1st bill 25 next 35 next 45 no new charges added why would this be????
