CareCredit Account Fraud Mix-Up

I am livid. I opened a CareCredit account to make a purchase (for eyewear) of $800 at Cohen's Fashion Opitical (located in NY) on August 25th, 2012. I received my first statement yesterday (09/18/12) and found out that not only do I have my $800 balance, but also an additional $1,180 charged on the same aforementioned day. The statement shows the $1,000-something charge was made at a Cohen's Fashion Optical located in a completely different store in NY. I called the erroneous charge store and they said the purchase was made by a long standing customer and that I needed to speak directly with CareCredit. I thought 'how could an account get mixed up in such a way? I haven't even heard of and much less know who this customer these people are talking about?' Yesterday, I reported the $1,000-something charge as fraud through CareCredit and was told by CareCredit that I will be notified in two months of the conclusion. I shouldn't have to wait that long, in my opinion but... Lets see what happens. I don't know if I'll ever use CareCredit again, honestly.

I am only 2 months into my account, and I am already so pissed. I signed up for online billing, added their address to my "Safe" list so the emails would come to my inbox, and I never received a statement for my 2nd month.

I get a statement today that I'm past due, and a $25 late fee. I called and all she could do was give me half that fee back.

It's ***, and I'm going to say so all over the internet! I have OUTSTANDING credit and if this late fee screws it up I will shout from the rooftops how awful GE CareCredit is and warn anyone away from it.

CareCredit review in Chatham, New Jersey: Unprofessional

I paid my total balance with the co. they cashed my check on the 16 of aug and they must have misplaced it. It was NEVER posted to my account but deducted from my checking and they have now sent me to collections for an error on their part. I have made multiple calls to the company even providing them with the check number and they continue to treat me like I have not paid the bal. I receive at least 4 calls a day from the collections agency and when I call back to ensure I will not incur any penalty fees as it is not my fault they continue to ask me to pay the bal. The customer serv. reps are all very rude and nasty

CareCredit review in Tacoma, Washington: Care credit

Went on line to make a payment submitted the payment wait for a confirmation nunber there was nothing. Call the company to make a payment and let them know what had happen, all they could say I will take the payment from me by phone waving the phone fee. Here I go making the payment and then I look at my statement and they have taken 2 payment. I assum that, that would take care of August since July had been paid already. Well no they starting calling my husband cell phone like crazy leaving message like they had not gotten 2 payment in July so I gave them a payment for August again and September so lets see if they call and say that September has not been paid. Asked to speak with a supervisor hopping for some customer relations and got my nose bloody by him also no support what so ever. They act like we as customers dont have any sense at all. Pay them off and tell the to *** off

I have care credit too, and I found out you can not pay up prior billing dates. If you pay more then the amount due it goes towards the total balance but will not affect the next bill due UNLESS the new statement has been issued ( about 2 weeks before the bill is due)

i was screwed over by Care Credit too!! I was referred to them by my Dental Office.... to help me pay off my dept with NO interest. They wanted me to pay $100/month so I set up automatic payment plan. They usually sent an email letting me know the $100 was due.......

Sounds to me like you probably checked the box stating you wanted to receive your bills electronically. Quite often when you pay through autopay you are also agreeing to electronic billing. If people would read everything before just clicking you wouldn't have this trouble

CareCredit review in Saint Louis, Missouri: Not given an itemized statement for proceedures performed

Was signed p for CareCredit at dentists office (shouldn't have) I could have just paid with credit card at lower interest. Receptionist signed me up for 10,000.00 and when I asked later what I was being charged for, she just said "just keep on paying the CareCredit bill" Now the office said that an itemization was being sent, however, I'm not sure if the proceedures are padded to come up to 10,000.00. *** mistake, but had just left the dental chair, numb, and disoriented with no time to think clearly! I've thought about getting second and third opinions of her charges. Talked with CareCredit today and she said that the dentist should reimburse me for monies not used, and as I do not plan to EVER go to this dentist again, the CareCredit person said that they would file a complaint, is this a scam?

Care Credit has no idea what you have been charged for. This is between you and your dentist.

Ask him/her for detailed invoice, they must provide one on your request. I am sorry you might have been ripped off (we all know some dishonest dentists do that), but this is not Care Credit's fault.

Carecredit Credit Card

CareCredit review in Portland, Oregon: GE Bank/Care Credit Customers

I have seen multiple complaints on this site for Care Credit customers, I am a victim of their horrible customer service and issues. When I looked up their BBB rating they have an A and are accredited on the site. This is one of many websites I have seen regarding negative reviews of their business practices. The BBB reports only 354 complaints but I have read over 430 on 2 sites today. I encourage everyone to report them and file a complaint. This link lets you find the BBB complaint for your location. http://alaskaoregonwesternwashington.bbb.org/find-a-bbb/

They offered me through the bbb complaint a resolution of waving a couple of late charges but my problems continue. I owe less than 1200 with interest and min.

Payments it will take me 9 years to pay them.

But that does include the 40 dollar monthly penalties and other fees I'm assessed each month when I cannot pay on time due to their own website and customer service issues. They can't find the time or ability to allow me to pay online or over the phone on time...but a couple days late they call me so much I had to get an app to block them.

Carecredit Credit Card

CareCredit review in Little Rock, Arkansas: The monthly payment is increasing instead of decreasing, WHY?

I'm paying my Care Credit payment and the payments had decreased during the last three or four months. All of a sudden I get an e-mail statement showing that my monthly payment has increased considerably. I'm catching heck trying to access the credit card site. I've had the same user ID and password for years and now either will work. What's really going on with this site and why isn't anything working anymore? Frustrated customer. It use to be easy to access my account to increase my monthly payment or just review my balance, now it's a nightmare.

Your promotion is likely have expired. Or else, they have recently changed their minimum payment calculation which was clearly outlined in the statements.

In the latter case, I hope you are not just making minimum payments, are you?

If you do, you will soon have to face hefty interest... Check into this as well while you are at it.

Carecredit Account

CareCredit review in Columbia, South Carolina: Care Credit GECRB closed account due to inactivity

June 2009 I opened a care credit acct at my eye dr's office. They recommended it to pay the difference that my insurance didn't cover for eye prodedure. I paid the balance off within 30 days so there was no interest. July 2012 I receive a letter that my account is being closed due to inactivity. I called them to say I was concerned that this would affect my credit score unfavorably and I did not have any medical procedures planned to use the card. They didn't care. My credit score is not bad but I caution anyone to get this card because if you don't plan on having medical procedures on a regular basis, it could hurt your credit score.
