Not given an itemized statement for proceedures performed

Was signed p for CareCredit at dentists office (shouldn't have) I could have just paid with credit card at lower interest. Receptionist signed me up for 10,000.00 and when I asked later what I was being charged for, she just said "just keep on paying the CareCredit bill" Now the office said that an itemization was being sent, however, I'm not sure if the proceedures are padded to come up to 10,000.00. *** mistake, but had just left the dental chair, numb, and disoriented with no time to think clearly! I've thought about getting second and third opinions of her charges. Talked with CareCredit today and she said that the dentist should reimburse me for monies not used, and as I do not plan to EVER go to this dentist again, the CareCredit person said that they would file a complaint, is this a scam?

Care Credit has no idea what you have been charged for. This is between you and your dentist.

Ask him/her for detailed invoice, they must provide one on your request. I am sorry you might have been ripped off (we all know some dishonest dentists do that), but this is not Care Credit's fault.

Loan Sharks!free int. turned into $50mth int.

I signed up for Care Credit because it was an interest free card for medical use. They started billing me $10.00 a month interest, that was fine, BUT the past three months they have charged me $75.00 interest! What the F%#@!!! I need help! They say it is 26% interest, but even that would not be $50.00 a month on $900.00. They refuse to correct my billing and wont close the account till I pay it off. SOMEONE HELP!!! This isn't the first time companies bill me what they want and get away with it. I fought a false insurance bill for well over a year. Magistrate walked out without hearing the case! The Appeals dismissed it because the Defendant was there saying they didn't get notified. We the little people are getting hurt the worst. everyone is ripping us off because they know they can get away with it, even in a court of law with all the legal papers in my favor. There is no justice anymore, anyone can take what ever they want from you and your just *** out of luck !!!!!

Care Credit GECRB closed account due to inactivity

June 2009 I opened a care credit acct at my eye dr's office. They recommended it to pay the difference that my insurance didn't cover for eye prodedure. I paid the balance off within 30 days so there was no interest. July 2012 I receive a letter that my account is being closed due to inactivity. I called them to say I was concerned that this would affect my credit score unfavorably and I did not have any medical procedures planned to use the card. They didn't care. My credit score is not bad but I caution anyone to get this card because if you don't plan on having medical procedures on a regular basis, it could hurt your credit score.

Care credit

Went on line to make a payment submitted the payment wait for a confirmation nunber there was nothing. Call the company to make a payment and let them know what had happen, all they could say I will take the payment from me by phone waving the phone fee. Here I go making the payment and then I look at my statement and they have taken 2 payment. I assum that, that would take care of August since July had been paid already. Well no they starting calling my husband cell phone like crazy leaving message like they had not gotten 2 payment in July so I gave them a payment for August again and September so lets see if they call and say that September has not been paid. Asked to speak with a supervisor hopping for some customer relations and got my nose bloody by him also no support what so ever. They act like we as customers dont have any sense at all. Pay them off and tell the to *** off

I have care credit too, and I found out you can not pay up prior billing dates. If you pay more then the amount due it goes towards the total balance but will not affect the next bill due UNLESS the new statement has been issued ( about 2 weeks before the bill is due)

This "credit card" is a FRAUD...you are better off going to a loanshark

Medical emergencies bring out the best in some, the worst in others. Well, needless to say...CareCredit brings out the absolute worst!!! Simply and to the point, they take advantage of patients in a bad situation. CareCredit.com are vultures – and if you can avoid dealing with them, I advise making whatever effort is necessary to do so.

CareCredit.com has signed up medical providers – not just MDs, but dentists, therapists, and veterinarians. If you have a huge medical expense, and can't afford the entire amount, chances are your medical provider will probably mention CareCredit.com and their wonderful three- or six-month no interest plan. Well, I had an overwhelming amount in dental costs and my dentist suggested that I apply for care credit for part of the amount. When I called them, they were EXTREMELY pleasant! I was approved during that very phone call. I have excellent credit...but needless to say, that was NEVER even checked.

The concept sounds very much like an act of mercy, guaranteeing that people who are in desperate need of funds to pay for their medical procedures will get the help they need.

CareCredit.com is actually GE Capital (the same people who made your "˜fridge lend out lots and lots of money). They're not in it for altruism – they're in it to make money – and make money they do. HOW? BY LYING TO YOU!!!!

This is not a loan, it's a credit card – in a few days, a MasterCard appears in your mailbox. In theory, you can use this card to charge more medical expenses. What's different about this card is that, unlike all those offers you're getting in the mail every day, the interest is GETTING ADDED EVERY SINGLE DAY at the maximum amount allowable under the usury threshold of 24% APY.

That vaunted "interest-free" period is only "interest-free" if you pay off the entire bill within the no-interest period. Pay off all but A FEW BUCKS and you owe interest on the entire bill.

MY STORY!

In my case, CareCredit.com never bothered to send me any form of information about the account AT ALL. Sure, they got the card to me, but nothing else. They're never sent me any information about the payment plans, and more to the point, they've never sent me a BILL!

I had less than $3,000 left to pay on the card prior to the "promotional period" ending. My dentist called up to add $9,000 to the card and asked if he did so, would they extend the promotional "interest free" rate for an additional 12 months. THEY GLADLY AGREED! Well, one day, I go online and notice that they are charging me interest. I called and not only was the customer service agent extremely rude, he proceeds to insult my intelligence insulted by stating that I should learn to read. (I'm sorry, last I checked I have my PHD! I am quite certain I KNOW HOW TO READ! This comment coming from a customer service rep who probably gets paid minimum wage at best.) Apparently, I was being charged "deferred interest" because, according to them, I never paid the prior balance off. First of all, I sent them a payment of $3,000 (which was OVER the amount I owed) and they applied that amount to the NEW BALANCE! WHY???? I HAVE NO IDEA! In addition, WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO READ??? NOTHING WAS EVER SENT TO ME BUT REGULAR STATEMENTS!!! So in essence, I KILLED MYSELF PAYING MORE THAN THE AMOUNT DUE EVERY MONTH...Just to get slammed anyway. THEY PROMISED MY DENTIST THAT THEY WOULD EXTEND THE PROMOTIONAL PERIOD IF HE ADDED MORE MONEY TO MY EXISTING ACCOUNT! Due to this, I am getting penalized for almost $3,000 in accrued interest. This is just ridiculous!

My Advice ...Avoid these people like the plague! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!! Not to mention that their customer service representatives are incompetent (if not merely ***) and worse yet, LIARS!!!

I got a CareCredit card, and used it for a vet bill for my cat, and never had an ounce of problems with them. I'd highly recommend them for those of us who need the extra help paying for the vet services.. worked just fine for me!

Just because you have an advanced degree doesn't mean you understand how to use credit. Banks don't make exceptions regardless of how much you complain. Pay your bills on time.

Pay attention to promo payoff deadlines and you’ll be fine. This company is not a scam.....

If you have multiple promos and you want to be sure to pay off the most recent one about to mature, you will need to call them and have them specifically allocate your payment to that promo. There are also different types of promos that you should educate yourself on.

It can be confusing, but not if you take the time to educate yourself on what you are financing. We have been using Care Credit for a long time now and use it mostly on our dogs. But it also came in handy when we needed to help out my parents in a pinch. We have made it a point to get our promos paid off in time.

It has been easy to manage, since the statement lays everything out for you as to what it due in full by when. THANK YOU FOR YOUR POSTS

My son is having his wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow and most of the costs ARE covered by my dental insurance, but i was "thinking" of financing the remaining balance with my VISA card when the surgeon's office suggested this option. Thank goodness you all had posted your experience with this fraudulent, unscrupulous, and non compassionate group of people. I will NOT be submitting my application to CARECREDIT because I do not want to become one more victim of some scam you've got going on here! Even though I HATE charging on my VISA card, at least I know up front what I am getting. I hope you at CARECREDIT ARE reading these posts like I did!

I have been using care credit for a year now and have not had one problem. They don't scam you, all bills are legit and based off of the amount you finance, although the interest rate is a little high. They helped me out when I didn't have another alternative and needed to take care of my teeth.

The monthly payment is increasing instead of decreasing, WHY?

I'm paying my Care Credit payment and the payments had decreased during the last three or four months. All of a sudden I get an e-mail statement showing that my monthly payment has increased considerably. I'm catching heck trying to access the credit card site. I've had the same user ID and password for years and now either will work. What's really going on with this site and why isn't anything working anymore? Frustrated customer. It use to be easy to access my account to increase my monthly payment or just review my balance, now it's a nightmare.

Your promotion is likely have expired. Or else, they have recently changed their minimum payment calculation which was clearly outlined in the statements.

In the latter case, I hope you are not just making minimum payments, are you?

If you do, you will soon have to face hefty interest... Check into this as well while you are at it.

Care Credit Privacy violations

CareCredit representatives have stated [on several occasions] that they DO NOT have access to account numbers/routing numbers. Their website is continually down, so unless you pay by check (which I do not have since all reputable companies usually offer online payment options) you have to call in to make a payment. On my latest call, the representative read my account number/routing number to me BEFORE I said a word. When I inquired as to how she was able to access this info, she said [quote] "we are technically not supposed to be on this screen." What?! When I called back and spoke with a manager, she informed me that ALL reps do, in fact, have access, they are just [quote] "not supposed to read them over the phone." What?! Not only did each rep tell a different lie, they clearly have no regard for consumer protection. Before you sing up with CareCredit, please be aware that they put you in serious danger of identity theft/bank theft by making your personal banking data accessible to ALL representatives.

After reading the reviews about care credit, I am convinced some things must have changed. I opened a care credit account in February of this year to pay for some dental treatment.

I knew from the start I would have to pay if off by a certain day if I wanted to avoid paying interest.I pay online. I have never had a problem with the website being down. I also don't have to remember the last 4 digits of my card. All I do is put in my username and password and I am ready to look at my account and pay my bill.

I have had no problems whatsoever with them and I am happy they are are in business, because I couldn't afford the kind of dental treatments I need if they didn't exist. So for all the people having problems I am sorry you have had a bad experience, but so far mine has been great.

Forced me to keep their credit

Care Credit dental plan is suppose to offer a person help in paying the denist bill, but they are just trying to get people into debt. The denist pads their bills so the client owes more than the service they give. I informed the Denist and care credit that due to their unsavy operations I would no longer want their services. I had the Denist informed them too. The dispute went on for some time with care credit insisting I owe them. With a reasonable time I had informed them that I would find my own funds to support my dental care. I had very good Dental insurance, did not realize that Denist charge more if you have insurance. Upon signing up for their credit the denist insisted that it was like a gap payment and would only cover cost my insurance would not cover. She charged my account $2,000 as soon as I submitted the application. Care Credit told me that they paid her already the whole amount before she did any work. Care Credit forced me into debit.

I'd just like to ask at what point does CareCredit think they are entitled to 26.99%APR? On a 5K 2300.00 balance, minimum payment due is listed as 80 bucks.

IF you make that payment, they keep 55 bucks, and send the rest to the balance. It never goes down.

I think this is USUARY, and should be illegal. I would never have signed if I knew how *** long this would have taken.

Care Credit charged me more than my doctor did. My doctor gave me a senior discount and Care Credit charged me the full amount.

Plus they never sent a statement as promised & by the time I went on line to try & get a mailed statement I was listed as 2 days past due. Wound up having to pay late fee plus the senior discount. Will never use them again.

Stick to your normal credit cards. They do not pad fees.

I've had my card for several years and I know that the interest rates are very high. You have to pay more than the minimum payment to get ahead.

By law, this should be posted on your statement.

Look at last months statement, see how much the interest and pay that plus extra $$ or get a lower interest loan to pay this off. :sigh

I filed a chargeback against an optical business and my money was refunded by CC.

Usarious interest rates without warning

I had LASIK surgery about 34 mos ago. I was told that i could finance thru Care Credit for 36 mos and pay no interest. After the surgery I went online at GE money and set up auto payments to pay off my 3000 within 36 mos. I received a notice yesterday to log onto my account and update information. I was shocked to find that I still owe 2200. When I called care credit they told me that my financing was only for 24 mos and when the balance wasn't paid in full, I had to pay accrued interest from the date of financing at the usarious rate of 22% . This is insane. I dont know how I was told 36 mos but somehow aplied for 24mos, but had I been notified that my loan was coming due at 24 mos., I certainly would have paid it off then. A year ago, I would have only owed 1000. Now, after paying 3000 in payments to Care Credit, I still owe 2200. I am definately pissed and do not know what recourse I have.

Had problems with Care Credit years ago through out dentist office. Same thing.

So much for an "Interest Free" loan. We paid it off a soon as we could and closed that account. Everytime the dentist office told us we could finance a service, we told them no way ! !

Have told everyone we know to stay away from Care Credit.

That's how they make their money. No concern over the phone.

Care Credit

I've been using CareCredit's GE online service pay my bills for months. Out of nowhere, my account was suddenly locked. I've tried everything - security questions, forgot user and password (even when I DO know my username+ password), it still gives me the same "information doesn't match their system". And eventually I called their customer service and asked if their system is down. No reason about why my account is locked, other than blaming me for entering the wrong information. I've already spoke to two different customer representatives (waiting over 3 days before I contact the customer services each time), and have repeatedly follow their instructions to login. At the end, both representatives told me that they will reset my account by sending me an e-mail within 24-48 hours - where I will be able to register for a new account to make my payment. It's been two weeks, I am still not able to register for a new account nor am I able to login. And no help nor reason were provided.

This same thing has happened to me. I've used Care Credit/GE Capital's online payment service to make payments on my account since the first time I used the care credit card in February of 2011.

I've always paid on time and much more the minimum in order to ensure my balance is paid off before the promotional period has ended. However, since care credit/GE Capital has changed their payment website, every month I've been locked out of my account. I know I have the correct username and password because I am able to unlock my account, but after I unlock the account, it asks me to enter my username and password again for security reasons. When that happens, it asks me a security question that is not my security question and then locks me out again.

I was able to log in for a short period in July but otherwise have not been able to successfully log in on a regular basis since March or April. I have been able to make the payments over the phone with Care Credit's waiving of the fee they charge for phone payments. However, I am not able to see my promotional balances or which balances have been paid in full.

Also, unless I go through a live person over the phone, the phone payment fee will not be waived even though the only reason I have to pay over the phone is because THEIR website is down. Keep in mind though, reaching a live person is a hassle and requires at least a 45 minute time commitment in order to go through all the phone trees and holds.
