CareCredit review in Kansas City, Kansas: Company makes promises they don't keep

Update by user Feb 02, 2012

It took over five phone calls to speak to a manager who finally agreed to work with us for 6 months. She never did address all the lies I was told.I hope to get this paid off soon and never ever ever have to deal with them again. I would not recommend this credit card, and wished I had read the reviews first.

Original review posted by user Dec 27, 2011

Our accounts are current, but account holder is suffering from early on stage dementia. Called to get a payment plan to quickly pay off account and was told we would be enrolled in a 6 month plan. We were told by two different representatives that they would assist us. Next statement came with an increase in minimum payment! When called company about it, was told we did not call back. We were never told to call back!! When asked why we could not enroll now, was told because our payments are up to date. We feel this is a Bait and switch tactic that is commonly used by credit card companies.

CareCredit review in Memphis, Tennessee: Payments

Made payments on time , but four times was charged for interest till I questioned them. Then charges were dropped . Next made a money transfer and check sent with final payment marked on check. They started complaining that the payment was late, and never got the final check. With advice from the bank , I made a money transfer to pay it off and cancelled the check they say they never received. Then the calls started, first for the posted late payment , now for not getting the last payment on time. asked to speak to the legal dept. and was told they don't have one which I know is a lie getting calls at 8:30 every two to three days now.

When I borrowed $6,000 for dental work from Care Credit, it was arranged by my dentist's wife. I told her that I needed the option of having the loan interest-free if paid within a specified time. When I noticed that there were huge interest fees, I called the company....

In all cases there is a minimum amount due monthly. IN ALL CASES.

Interest accruing is tallied monthly on statements. Pay in full within the promotional period and the interest is never charged.

I haved worked in customer service for over 10 years and am and a very calm person. Never have I been so angry than having dealing with these people. First of all, if you are one minute late on a payment, there is a 35.00 late fee daily. Secondly, if you are trying to...

I really don't see the the grounds for this complaint. You were late on your payment, you were charged a fee. Whether you're late by one minute or one month, you agree to pay your bill on time.

Why is it their fault that you don't keep your account and login information stored and protected? It's important stuff, keep it safe.

About a rude customer service rep, a human being acting like a human being sounds pretty refreshing to me.

My conclusion? Don't be irresponsible with payments and your account information and then blame the company for your mistakes.

CareCredit review in Los Angeles, California: Care Credit, this is Fraud!

I went to the dentist last year and got approved for a Care Credit 2 year interest free loan for my dental services. I have been making payments on time and so far it has only been a year, so I am making conservative payments with a giant lump sum in the near future to pay off the loan. Well I logged on to my account today and saw my new balance and nearly fell off my seat. I thought my account got hijacked and went into panic mode, but realized by looking at the transaction summary that GE, without informing me of ANYTHING, added 1500 dollars in interest to my balance! This is a scam, a fraud, and I will spread this everywhere if it is not corrected. DO NOT deal with Care Credit if this is how they deal with their loyal consumers.

I must say that care credit contacted me and resolved the situation in a friendly and satisfying manner. Also, they did not ask me to say this. I appreciate their cooperation.

They definitely prey on desperate individuals. My bill went up astronomically at the end of the first year.

I am disgusted the a dental office would even offer such an absurd solution to removing a tooth while my jawbone is swollen and in serious pain! I have paid way more for my bill than the original work. The company sickens me. My wife passed away shortly after my dental visit and I have hospital bills from that to deal with also.

I only make 200 a month on average and am struggling to make more. There should be a law against dental offices pushing care credit on unfortunate patients. To make the situation worse; care credit is set up so that you cannot contact someone who is American or has any power to do anything but collect your money let alone understand English well enough to be dealing with such matters. There are people assembling a class action lawsuit and I hope to get inboard with that.

I am going to make a Facebook page regarding it and I should be able to get that to spread very fast since I know so many influential people. Channel 6 news is also interested in doing a story if they can get more local people willing to go public with their dilemma. I am furious with paying off care credit for three years for a fifteen minute job.

I was in the beginning stages of systematic poisoning when they threw this option onto my lap at the dentists office. I will not pay another cent.

Hopefully you still have the papers you signed. I would make a complaint through the BBB and your local Chamber of Commerce.

I used Care Credit once, because the dentist said it would be ok. I am covered 100%, and he was trying to cover his own butt. It all worked out, but could of been a pain.

I only had 6 months of no interested. I think the Doctors get a kick back....

Carecredit Account

CareCredit review in Jacksonville, Florida: Care Credit / GE Capital take advantage of people

Started using Care Credit back in February 2011 to pay off lasik eye surgery. I was told that it was a two year interest free loan. Sounded like a great deal. My first bill came and I started making payments. Little did I know that the payment plan that I was on would not pay off the balance after the two years. Unfortunately, I did not realize this until the eleventh payment. I called customer service to discuss my concerns. What I discovered was that on the my current payment plan that my remaining balance would end up being more than $1,600 dollars after the two years. And deferred interest of over $1000 would be added on to that. Leaving me a balance of over $2,600 after the two years is up. Talk about, getting straight up ***. I understand that credit card companies need to make money, but this is out of control, especially under the financial situation we are all in these days. I now have to make double payments for the next thirteen months or end up paying extra $1000 or more. They are not an honest company and I'm doing every thing in my power to make sure that they are not going to get a dime in interest from me. *** them.

Ironhorse, thank you for your response. I fully understand the situation that I am dealing with.

As I stated, I intend to pay off the balance before the interest kicks in. Blaming a credit card co. would be total insanity and it wouldn't get me anywhere anyways. Credit companies are in the business to make money and I don't have a problem paying interest on money that I have borrowed.

I just think that the deferred interest that this company charges is way out of control. And from what I have read from some less fortunates that they tack on a 24.9% interest rate on top of that. Seems excessive. I guess I just get frustrated when I see banks taking advantage of people.

There are people out there that use this card to pay for desperately needed medical procedures. And because of there financial situation they end up really getting screwed. I'm not the only one that feels this way. I would suggest reading some of the other many complaints that people have posted about this company.

Unfortunately there's not a whole lot that any of us can do about companies like this. I best thing that I can do is post my experience for others to read and make sure this company doesn't any of my money.

don't blame them--of course they wanted you to pay the min. so it wouldn't be paid off in time--you can pay more than the min anytime you want--its up to you to figure out how much you need to pay each month to pay it off before the intrest kicks in.

Carecredit Credit Card

CareCredit review in Norfolk, Virginia: Anomynous

Care Credit is a fraudulous company that is scamming money from unsuspecting patients. I purchased hearing aides. I believed I was applying for in house financing, but not so. A week later, I recieved a credit card for a $ 6000 credit limit @ 26%. It had already been charged $ 2600 for one hearing aide. I had not even activated the card. I was irate!! I returned the hearing aides & demanded they 0 my acct. I called care credit & got the credit card acct closed. It is a credit card scam! The hearing aide company may also be aware of their practices.

And why should the landlord forward your mail? It's your responsibility to go to the post office or online and forward your own mail. Unbelievable lateness
