Dental payment

Did not get the matter resolved. My dental provider uses them for their patients to pay their bills. I was denied credit twice. They said that I would receive a letter the reason for their denial.

Extensive hold of large payment

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I paid two thousand dollars to my account on January 29. It came out of my bank on that day. On February 2 I had an emergency and went to use it and was told there was no available balance. On February 9 I had a vet appointment and looked to see if I could use it and now there is a negative $9 dollars. I called and spoke to three managers and was told if you make a large payment we hold it. It will not be released until February 11. Not that they charged interest n the amount that was paid. They would not help in any way and you can not get to anyone who might help. Very bad business practices. How dare they hold money that has been paid to them 12 days prior. Never ever open an account with these people. I have had them for years and years and never had a late payment. Doesnt matter. I asked the manager how she would feel, put yourself in my position. Her comment was why would I do that.

Account blocked

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
A few days ago I cancelled a '14-day free trial' -- within the 14 day window -- for Ancestry.com. Nevertheless, they went ahead and charged me $149. This prompted a fraud alert on my CareCredit account. I then made two separate calls to CareCredit as their instructions on how to 'verify' my account were absolutely useless and simply did NOT work. I spent more than an hour on this nonsense before sending them a message that if this is not soon resolved, I will be cancelling this card and paying it off. Today I received a ridiculous message from them informing me to call them as there is a problem with my card. No kidding! Since these thieves are also charging sky-high interest -- even though I have an excellent credit score -- I am not going to do ANYTHING to restore my available line of credit. The ball is in their court to fix this mess, but apparently they are standing still with the ball waiting for me to make the first move. Any calls I DO make to CareCredit/Synchrony will be to cancel the card and do my best to pay it off. To *** with this!

I been with carecredit for 5 years. I first paid them off in 2017. Then my son and I got glasses and I used at Rite aid and was paying. Last month I had the chance to pay them off. I went on my page last week and saw my account closed. I never was late with payments. They said it was due to my credit. This is terrible. I never was late with them.

Payments being refused

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Have a Care Credit card when making online payments I keep getting warnings that payment was denied due to bad account number. I use the account # on the statements when making payment, and then they charge me interest and late penalties even though payment was deducted from my bank account and debit card which has pushed a balance of $98.00 to over 200.00. This looks a lot like a scam to generate fees and higher interest rates.

Stolen funds

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Six or seven years ago while living in upstate NY I was referred to GE CareCredit to help pay for cataract surgery implants. While able to pay off balances rather quickly I did this routinely without a hitch until my last payment. Upon submitting a bank check for $60 closing out my balance I noticed CareCredit drew $6,000 from my account which I did not authorize. Called a few times over several months to rectify this putting back my money minus the $60 to which a few customer service reps agreed to do. However weeks later $5,940 still never made it back into my account. After calling back again I was repeatedly told over and over I must have made a mistake and owed $6,000 more and not the $60 for which my check was written. Finally I found a very knowledgeable bank manager who traced out the money trail reaching out to CareCredit at which time they immediately refunding the $5,940 they surreptitiously lifted from my bank account months earlier. Stay away from these thieves, BEWARE...

Do not do business with them! They will ruin your credit & your life!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
First of all, none of the customer service reps understand English! I tried explaining to them that I purchased a voucher for a "Four-Week Introductory Weight-Loss Package and Eight Lipotropic B12 Bioenergetic Tabs" FROM LIVING SOCIAL &;;; made the appt with the doctor who pushed his $1899 program on me. Long story short, I gave him permission to run my credit, but not to make the charge. In less than 2 days, I told him that I wanted to withdraw my application and I was not interested in doing his program for several reasons. HE ALSO NEVER EXPLAINED THE INTEREST RATE WOULD BE 26.99%! Not only did was the withdrawal my application not done for the $1899 charge, somehow, I was charged ANOTHER $1899 in addition to that! I WAS/AM LIVID! These idiots do not know that $1899 - $1899 = $0.00!! Simple arithmetic people!!! I have been fighting this since 11/2018. I even had my brother call & they did not understand him either. They are ruining my credit & my life (and I suffer already from panic & anxiety disorder). DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THEM!!!

I applied with Care Credit so that I could get my dogs spayed. I've only had the card a couple of weeks and I was about to make their appointments today. I checked my Care Credit account just to be sure and I had none. I guess you have to use it 5 minutes after they approve you or it's void. It's so unethical, especially since its being used for medical care.

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Nov 15, 2019

no, i posted testimonial on care credit web page doubt it will be posted

Original review Nov 13, 2019
I spoke to a customer service agent and asked how to set up a notification for when my promotional dated ended. I set up to be notified 10 days before that date so I could pay the balance and avoid interest.

I told the agent I don't review monthly statements I just want to be reminded to pay it in full before the date. I had alerts set up online and I have a screenshot showing the Alerts set up. I never got a notice now they are charging me over $2000 in interest. I called to tell them I never got the alert.

They apologized and said sometimes the system doesn't work!! I spoke to Heather a supervisor and she said there is nothing they can do. I even offered to pay interest for just the dates after the promotional period, still NO I have to pay all the interest. I asked if they would consider discounting any of it still NO!

She again apologized for the system failure but said there's nothing she can do. I closed the account. Now I will never use the card again and I will recommend that nobody use this card because their customer service is terrible and they make poor business decisions.
As I was on the phone I read out my Alerts to her and I was enrolled. Funny enough my account not only changed to "closed" when I logged in again but my alerts were all cleared out and it now reads "not enrolled" in alerts.

I also asked the supervisor to pull up the recording of my call where their agent assured me I would be notified and she told me "they don't do that".

So it's okay for their system to "fail", I wonder how many other people had their Alerts "fail" so they got stuck with the interest payment?
As a note, the minimum monthly payment that you are enrolled in will assure that you never pay it off by the end of the promotion, and then the alert system will "fail", but reset assured you will get an apology...just no consideration for trusting their representatives or using their system its all there for "customer convenience" but you can't rely on it! Great system...

HaHaha...So you're saying you have a way to post this nonsense but no way to put an alert on your phone, a calendar, a computer to remind you of the terms YOU agreed to. Gotcha....Of course, they can't do anything for you unless your the contract you agreed to said you're off the hook for interest if alerts don't come. Thanks for the what not to do if you're an adult who can handle their business.

Let me guess...you work for Synchrony. Nice try but do you know that they had to pay $225 million for deceptive practices AND they somehow can’t come up with my agreement or terms to prove I agreed to 18 months?

That’s because it was actually 24 months and that’s what I DID have calendared. Thanks for your comments, not interested.

Guest

Any one who still; has a Synchrony account, read these reviews and close accounts. Don't worry about credit score, that is just a temporary thing. Close accounts, or pay the consequencesm later..

what a rude comment. who are you and how much you are paid for this kind of repetitive defense?

at least you could be more sophisticated.

carecredit is horrible company and needs to stop deceptive practices. i agree with all negative comments here.

Online statements unvisible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am unable to view my statements online. Synchrony blames me for it because I changed to paper bills, but even after I changed back to electronic bill, my statements will not open, I have received six months of statements from this company my balance is two months incorrect. Such discrepancies as cash to be used will later be presented as overdrawn. I am interested in a class action lawsuit against Synchrony because the way my account is being handled I will never be able to pay it off. How can this bank be allowed to do business? The custom service is lacking clear English.
