Wish I never had to apply

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I applied and was approved. I was told wait somewhere around 10 days for my card. (Can't remember the exact amount now) I never received it. I called and was rudely told to wait longer. I ended up cancelling the card not knowing Care Credit reported a lost or stolen card to the credit bureaus, dropping my score 13 points. Of course my old card comes the next day, later than supposed to. But now I can't do anything with it because it's already been cancelled. Now I have to wait for the new one. I called and complained, and it was supposed to be corrected. Never was. Then they reported an account closed and it dropped another 12 points! I called and complained again. They reassured me that I would get my points back once it was reported an account was opened again. I had them dispute this with the credit bureaus and I lost another 6 points due to a "remark added/consumer dispute". If you are like me and closely monitor your credit report because you have worked harder than *** to build your credit; finally recached the 700s, and lost 31 points! Be careful with this one!

CareCredit is a front for Synchrony Bank.. Danger Danger Will Robinson!!!

One of the most predatory credit card lenders in business today with over a hundred store credit cards, doctors offices, veterinarians, etc. Interest rates always 25 to 30% starting from the second card is swiped BUT they only Market it boldly as as 0%.. or special financing offers details are the devil in small print NOTICE 0% disappears in short time the compounded interest from day one never does and it's tacked on as a lump sum fee the very second something goes wrong in the contract their legal team has put a noose around your neck at sign up. Run fast and far, always check to see who is backing a card before signing or you can be very sore from the end result as you see credit report wise and luckily they did not get into you monetarily.

Look at the reviews for Synchrony Bank and check who's behind any credit card before you ever sign up and opt out of any paperwork mandatory arbitration clauses what usually have to be done in writing within 60 days of opening the card or you cannot take them to court.

Educate yourself on credit card use it's a very dangerous game in America today good luck. PS worst plague to hit credit cards recently is deferred interest Google Chi Chi Wu deferred-interest articles posted by her she's from the National Consumer Law Center, learn how to protect yourself

Thank you soo much. Soo much good advice.

I have yet to get screwed out of a bunch of money interest wise, but I'm sure it's coming.

I applied to pay for chemotherapy treatments. I will need to work on paying it off, and finding another route.

The problem with deferred-interest promotions is everyday they add sleeping interest in the background so every month you make a payment it gets charted against back ground interest first & if any is left over it gets charted against principal.. So for example take whatever you borrowed multiply by 35% divided by 12 that's approximately your 1st yrs monthly sleeping interest amount because at 29.99% compounded daily it comes out to north of 36 or 37% then multiply that by the amount of months in the deferred-interest loan and that's just the amount of Interest they will hold over your head....

so say you borrowed $5,000 add that amount to the 5000 & even if you're $100 short of paying 5000 in last month they will still charge you that whopping amount that you just figured out and add it to the one hundred dollar ballance so when you think you have a balance of $100 left unless it's totally paid off they could add $1,000 sleeping interest so to speak to the remaining 100 and your balance would then become 1100 again because deferred-interest is a real plague on consumers and consumers haven't been trained to understand This Modern play get called deferred-interest just keep paying and paying and paying these deferred-interest Crooks.

They won't explain it to you, just hand you a piece of paper and expect you to sign an approval note in 30 seconds or less when it takes an hour to read the paper and you should actually take it to a lawyer before you sign anything . You're much better off to seek out a conventional bank loan or at least go talk to a loan officer about alternatives to any deferred-interest promos because even if your late at all on just one payment they can immediately take the example $1,000 interest out of sleeping mode & you'll have to make higher payments based on that New amount and they will never ever credit it back to you just send you to collections and take your credit rating into the gutter sorry for the bad news but I did not belittle you I just told you the truth about deferred-interest and Care Credit via Synchrony Bank

So, you're saying don't be an IDIOT and READ what you sign...UNDERSTAND what you sign and carry through on the promise YOU made and you won't be hit with high interest fees. OMG....You make it so easy...

Thanks for the Pro Tip {Sarcasm Font} The only way this is a problem for you is if you're stupid.

It's that simple. Don't be stupid...

They put your payment on hold to get the interest money

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have a diabetic dog that requires a lot of vet visits. I am trying to pay down my bill, but when I paid $900 this month, the company put a hold on my payment.

They claimed it was because they were monitoring some kind of payment pattern for my account. I paid $1,500 and $1,000 before with no hassles, now they are taking 3 days to update my "available credit". Meanwhile, my dog could have a serious diabetic problem, and there would be no money in the available credit to pay for his care. Total RIP OFF!

Wtf The only thing I can think of is that they take the money and use it for three days to get the interest from it! Pattern my ***

If you have more than one account with care credit and call your payment in, expect the worse case possible. I have had my payment registered to another account. Causing the correct one to look late! When I have paid on multiple accounts the correct amount is not applied! I could go on but it is a two hour story!!!

Terrible customer service, Manager, Jessica ID # 1921

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

CareCredit “allows” you to call and allocate your payments the way you as the consumer request for your payments to be allocated. I have been trying for almost 2 months, 6 calls later to have 3 payments allocated to a non-promotional balance because it’s building interest.

I’m assured at the end of every call that my request is being processed but it never happens. They move my money and continue to disperse it to whatever transactions they please (the promotional ones that are NOT building interest even if they don’t expire for another year or so). After my fourth call, I finally asked to speak with a manager. Jessica ID # 1921 came on the phone and was incredibly rude.

She would not let me speak, interrupted, controlled the conversation, made many statements such as “it doesn’t matter” and “carecredit provides you only with the information that you need to know,” and she hung up on me after I was on the phone with 4 other people for 2+ hours trying to figure this all out. Beware of carecredit. And Jessica ID # 1921, is an awful representation of the company.

Clearly, she does not like helping customers so I am so confused as to why she has a job in customer service. As a faithful customer of carecredit for about 10 years now, I will no longer be using this company, and have told all of my friends and family as well so they know of the major risks.

I've written a review on Jessica as well. I feel your pain.

She's got to be the worst Customer Service rep, and works for the company with the worst customer service on the planet. It's a match made in heaven...as long as we all stear clear of it.

Oh my goodness. It’s oddly refreshing to hear that I’m not the only one that experienced her bad attitude when it was completely unwarranted.

I’m shocked she’s a manager/supervisor or really that she even still has a job in customer service. Thanks for sharing!

LOL! Agreed.

She's a prime example of what NOT to do as a customer service supervisor, yet somehow she managed to gain that title. And although it's not a pleasant one, it looks like she's made a name for herself.

And thank you as well -- I thought I was the only one who had to feel her wrath. Lol

Credit limit dropped AGAIN

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have always made a point of paying for care credit on time but im not perfect. A couple times i was late (no more than by 2-3 days max) because of how i got my pay check those months.. well like numerous other people said, my payment went up. Ok whatever.. it was harder but i was still grateful to have them. Then i noticed my credit limit dropped by $500... ok.. kind of upset me but i could see their reasoning. I did make a couple late payments. Then the next time i got a lump sum of money, i paid a huge chunk down on my balance with care credit. Two days later i saw they lowered my credit limit again. Um...what? They sent a letter saying its because my balance was over 80% for too long.. well lets think about this.. i wasnt over the credit limit, but as soon as i paid a huge amount off on my balance, you lowered my credit limit.. guess what, that took my good deed of getting it below 60% of my credit limit and threw it all away.. bc now that my limit dropped, i was back over 80%.... Then once again about a year later, i paid over $1,000 off on it taking it down to around 50%.. and then guess what!!.. they lowered my credit limit again by $1,500.. this time they said ita because i made a few late payments on a cell phone bill not even related to them. So once again i am at around 80% of my credit limit. I'm furious and i am over them being this way. Every time i called, they would only said that everything is explained in the letter and they cant speak to me about it. Care credit like to *** you over any way they can. Forget about raising your credit as long as you have them because you will never have your credit card below 50%. 3 times this has happened.. it can't always be just my fault if all i do is pay my bill (on time and more than the minimum)..

Ruined my credit

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have had this card for years. However, when my dog needed emergency surgery, I hit the limit on the card. This immediately dropped my credit score. When I contacted them, they were not helpful at all. As a matter of fact, they said that I was not over my limit and they don't know why that was reported, but didn't do anything. I have been paying more than required every month, but that never gets reported. This is the only thing that was reported negatively and they are doing nothing. Fortunately my dog is getting better, but now I have to pay higher insurance rates to get a house. They don't care.

Poor Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I contacted customer service about a payment made that was showing as posted and was deducted from my bank account, but was not showing in the balance or available funds. The first representative just said that was the way it was without looking for any reason.

I asked to be transferred to a manager. The manager did look at the account and said that it takes a certain amount of time and just kept repeating that over and over when I expressed my unhappiness about this. I found her rude and not willing to help. Overall, I find customer service not helpful at Care Credit overall.

Extremely high interest if you carry a balance and rude customer service.

I rate this company as poor. Not going to continue my relationship with them.

I contact these people at least once a month and their agents are ill prepared. As soon as they cannot answer a question they transfer you to another "next level" agent that is suppose to help you but also does not do that. Oh and beware of them send your call to international 3rd party customer care agent. It should not take me 30- 60 to make a payment. Thanks for not helping Care Credit! I give you one star for customer satisfaction. Its not your agents fault that you properly train them. I hope you figure out how to better serve your customers or I will have to go else where.

Interest rates, WOW!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was told by a friend if we didn't pay off our account before the promotional date the interests went sky high... so I just checked them and in December it was 17 dollars, in Jan it was 134, in feb it's 90 dollars!! we have to use all our savings to pay this *** card off and get rid of it!! We have a car credit card also but we paid that off before the date so didn't know this was going to happen. I read about a law suit they had in 2013 to pay people who were ripped off. Why are they still allowed to do this?

THE WAILING OF THE DEADBEAT!

The terms of such an interest free promotion very clearly spell out the payments need to be made on time, otherwise all the interest becomes due. By YOUR OWN ADMISSION, you failed to do that!

Who's fault was that?

Very, very obviously YOU caused that! Talk about sorry, whining deadbeats!

I understood you.

Am going pay for my classes, but if you forgot ,just one day, you will be ready to suffer extra charges.

Carecredit Credit Card Review from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I got my care credit card about my cat needed emergency surgery. My credit limit was $3,500 which I hit pretty quickly. I paid $1,050 online with my own bank account. The money came out of my account and went towards my "available balance" 2 days later. However, it did not go towards my available credit even though the payment has been "posted" online. Not to mention I now have a negative credit limit because my payment came before my first bill was due so it technically does not count. Not to mention I paid $941 more than what my first payment is supposed to be. And I paid it early! I've talked to 3 agents and they told me it was a bank regulation that they had to hold my money because it's over a certain amount. Even though it came out of my account already. They are only holding it so I incur more charges. I asked if there was a disclaimer stating a payment over a certain amount had to be held for at least 7 days by synchrony bank and I was told no there was not. I paid my money. They took my money. But they have yet to return that back in the form of available credit. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL.

Why not just use a regular bank credit card like Visa, etc? Or, better yet, save your money for eventualities like this.

My bill arrives after my bill is due! They do this on purpose to get you & charge late fees on you.

Care Credit Holding My Money

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I tried paying off two of my special promotions on 04/26/16. The money came out of my bank account on 04/27/16. They still didn't allocate it the right way. They put the money on my promotion with fixed payment/reduced APR. I kept checking my CareCredit account online to see if they were going to apply the payment like I wanted them to. I noticed that my available credit amount was off by the amount I paid on the 26th. I called and spoke with a manager, and was told that they were holding my money for another 7 days. Her explanation for doing so was the payment I made was too large. EXCUSE ME....I am paying off two promotions, so I won't be charged interest. That is the most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard. It's not like I wrote them a check, I paid them online, with the same bank account I have been using for over a year. The sad part is I still have to deal with them after I pay this card off. I have quite a few accounts with Synchrony.
