Cards with open lines of credit (especially large lines, which these often are) and very little usage are very open to fraud. It is a common practice for companies to close accounts, especially those for store cards (which this effectively is), in these instances.

At least you were informed of it. Typically, they just close them.

And if you rarely use it and pay all balances within the promo periods, they are not making any money off of you, at all, so they are carrying risk for zero profit. Why WOULDN'T they close it?

recently had computer crash so I bought a new one and while trying to figure out care credit websight so I could pay my bill- It would not let me past the "update info required" what the ***? been about 2 weeks now. when I call the number on card- automated- UGHHH- cant talk with a human to figure out the issue. about as helpful as the *** website they've spent 10.00 to get up and running. Sorry, just very frustrated and figured I wouldnt hold back :)

All I wanted was a smile I got had My dental work/plan has not been complet and I owe carcredit 4,000.00. I called Carecredit to request a clear statement of what I am playing for and to lower the monthly payments. I was ignored and now I have bad credit and continue to owe 4,000.00. I got gaged and no smile. At my last dental appointment, I was asked to pay 75.00 for a deep cleaning before my dental plan can be completed. OMG

CareCredit review in Greensburg, Pennsylvania: GE Capital/CARE CREDIT FRAUD

I agreed to a 6 month no interest promotion for dental implant work in June 2012. 9 months later (March 2013) the work has not been completed, as the implant/bone graft failed in October 2012, and had to be removed and the bone graft reattempted at that same time. Once again, 9 months later, and a procedure that should've been resolved within 4 months (by October 2012) has now exceeded that time frame twice over. I contacted Care Credit twice about this issue, and in both instances the response was basically "we'll see what we can do, we'll stop the billing while investigating...", only to respond later with a "sorry, we can't help you" letter with back dated interest tacked on, with no acknowledgement as to the reason why the entire balance has not been paid in full during the 6 month promotion, nor any acknowledgement of the monthly payments that have been made. I guarantee an individual or class action lawsuit will be filed against this company. They offer credit accounts/promotions, yet penalize and steal from their customers (interest fees) by offering no recompense, regardless of the facts, in the event treatment plans are not completed correctly, or completed within the time frame outlined prior to agreeing to treatment.

told by dentist if i ***'t to pay my bill on time i would not be chg, interest, opened my bill today,I was chg. 1145.00 in interest cause my bill extended over two yrs. I was never told I had a time limit just a clause that said pay on time ea. month-who do i file a complaint to? This company needs to be stopped I refuse to pay this bill I owe 700 they are saying 1900.00, are they crazy - e mail me at iaerton@yahoo.com-I have read about my people feeling the same way, I think we need to get together and stop this company once and for all, I pay my bills on time to be tried like this is not exceptable

I agree with LadyScot. You have no idea what you are talking about.

It sounds like you did not read any portion of your contract. Not paying results in more fines which isn't very smart. They offer different amounts of time based upon the amount of money spent. A copy is handed to you at the doctors office at the time of service.

Hard to believe you had no idea of this. I have the card and its wonderful.

HOW would your doctor, who does not work for the CC finance company know how their credit works?? Did you READ your credit agreement? You signed it. Most all interest free when paid by loans have the interest billed upfront. When you pay it off in the allotted time, the interest is then either taken from the final payment, or refunded in full. Again, READ the credit agreement.

Would you ask your mechanic how your doctor does brain surgery??

I signed up for Care Credit because it was an interest free card for medical use. They started billing me $10.00 a month interest, that was fine, BUT the past three months they have charged me $75.00 interest! What the F%#@!!! I need help! They say it is 26% interest, but even that would not be $50.00 a month on $900.00. They refuse to correct my billing and wont close the account till I pay it off. SOMEONE HELP!!! This isn't the first time companies bill me what they want and get away with it. I fought a false insurance bill for well over a year. Magistrate walked out without hearing the case! The Appeals dismissed it because the Defendant was there saying they didn't get notified. We the little people are getting hurt the worst. everyone is ripping us off because they know they can get away with it, even in a court of law with all the legal papers in my favor. There is no justice anymore, anyone can take what ever they want from you and your just *** out of luck !!!!!
